| The girl, who is a good friend of mine, is going to marry a guy. That guy is married now. That guy and his wife lived next to my house. They are also UCF students and they were kind of my friends. I got to know it last night. I saw the wife outside of my house. I was asking:"Where are you going?" She told me,tearfully, that she had been separated from her husband for three months, and the reason is the girl! I just couldn't believe it! The couple looked to be good together. The girl has been studying and working together with me a lot in the last three months. And I didn't notice anything! I thought she was considering another guy, the Pakistanian guy studying with us. I thought she was a virgine. Yes, it is a big surpurise. It is no surpurise that I am the last one to know it, though. | | |
| In a group meeting, when people are discussing something called, let's say, "QWE", and you asked," What is QWE?" Then it is a stupid question. It is a stupid question because it makes you appear stupid. You don't even know what is QWE! Don't ask such stupid question! Even if you want to be honest and you don't care to appear stupid, your boss don't like you to be "honest and stupid". Business is business! You can no longer enjoy the innocence of a "student". | | |
| I passed it. And I got the highest score. It is no big deal as some "big bulls" didn't spend so much time to prepare. It is a big deal as my optics backgroud was zero. And the competition was crucial. Gaussian optics, radiation, wave aberration; boundary condition, isotropic media, Gaussian beam; Lorentz model, Drude model, semiconductor, laser, nonlinearity; Waveguide, fiber, Pockel effect, Acousto-optics, PIN, PD. Good. I learnt some Optics. | | |
| When I said, "I can not concentrate in my work.", I knew I could. I could stop doing this and that just to avoid working. I could stop thinking of the future, the past, people around me and people at the other side of the earth just as a bad means of relaxation. "Be master of yourself".
